I came from Scottland, now living in the United States, specifically in San Diego. Am a Psychologist, my Filipino wife is a Mortgage

Underwriter.

We both love Filipino Food. And we also love

Sushi.

I think barbecued intestines-"isaw" tastes good.

None of my American friends dare to try it.

I prefer chicken. My wife loves both

chicken and pork isaw.

The only thing that I do not care for is Balut.

Yes, I have tried it. Ate a couple of bites, but just didn't care for it. Maybe I should have drank down a shot or a bottle or two of beer first. But that is out of the question, because I do not drink alcohol.

My son asked me what Balut was, I provided him with an explanation, but he did not understand, so I took him to this site below:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balut

Click on the site.

Was this a little too harsh, for a 8 yr. old ?

Possibly, but my son is tough, and can stomach just about anything.

But yes, my wife and I have eaten barbecued intestines, I like chicken better, she enjoys both

quite a bit.

Excellent Question. Thanks for asking.

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day there ?

I have never asked me wife, if she celebrated

Valentine's Day on Feb. 14th in P.I.

Isaw is like one of my all-time favorites. I like both chicken and pork. The deep-fried ones are good as well especially with spicy vinegar. Isaw with beer is excellent after a long hard week or during special occassions.

I love both. You made me miss Philippine food now specially Isaw. Yummy.

There is another way of cooking isaw specially the pork isaw. We called it Adobo or if you don't like it you can try Kinilaw.

Maybe you just need to try other way of cooking it to like it.

I used to eat chicken intestines, but I have never tried pork intestines... they are so big for my tolerance.=)

The chicken intestines are tasty.. but lately I decide not to eat any rather than risking having GI problems again.

I am from the Southern USA--we eat fried or stewed pork intestines--we call it chitterlings. (we pronounce it chitlins). I have eaten a few times. It tastes pretty good (depending on how well it was cleaned and who cooked it). There is actually an annual festival devoted to chitlins in Salley, SC. It is called the "Chitlin Strut".

it tastes ok...

salty and all.

but it all depends on the sauce ^_^

i'll only eat isaw if i know the person who made it. i don't want to eat isaw that are sold in the streets. you'll never know aight?. ;-)

i think bbq isaw is better if it's chicken.
